Description for Molybdenum rod
 
Molybdenum's properties
include a mel ting point of 2610° C, good electrical conductivity and tensile strength at high temperatures, along with low vapor pressure and a low coefficient of thermal expansion.
 
Because of such characteristics, the metal finds wide use in fabricating heating elements, fasteners and structural components for high temperature HIP, vacuum and hydrogen atmosphere furnaces. It is also of value in the lighting, electronics and semiconductor industries. Applications of metal rod include lamp supports, power tube components and silicon rectifier mounts.
 
 
Availability
Molybdenum rod is manufactured as random length pieces or cut to customers' desired lengths in diameters ranging from .020 inches to 1.75 inches. Standard diameter and length tolerances are listed in the accompanying tables. Other, closer tolerances can be quoted on request. In addition, there are three different surface processes or finishes which are provided, depending on the desired end use.

Appearance:
 
Divided forging molybdenum rod  and polished molybdenum rod; forging molybdenum rod surface is allowed to have oxidize film and slight forging hammer mark; polished molybdenum rod surface presents metallic luster and has no oxidized phenomenon notably; The two surfaces have no defects, such as divided   layer, crackle, burr and  vertical   crackle, etc.
 
Apparent condition:
 
We can supply black rods, machined rods, grinded rods as customers' requirement. We also can manufacture as user's drawing.
 
Black - Surface is "as swaged" or "as drawn"; retaining a coating of processing lubricants and oxides.
 
Ground - Surface is processed by grinding machine to remove all coating and to achieve precise diameter control.

We produce pure and lanthanum doped molybdenum rod. The lanthanum doped molybdenum rods are targeted for use in higher temperature applications where ductility is retained after recrystallization for material with smaller cross sections
